Dr. El Hadi Gashut, Director General of the Regional Remote Sensing Center for North African States (CRTEAN), participated in the First Conference of the Arab Network of Scientific Research Centers, held on 4\u20135 October 2026<\/strong> at the National Research Centre in Cairo, under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was initiated by the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils to strengthen knowledge integration and cooperation among Arab research institutions and provide an institutional framework for exchanging expertise and launching joint research initiatives and projects. It brought together numerous directors of research and scientific centers from Arab countries, alongside researchers, specialists, and others interested in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Gashut\u2019s participation took place within the framework of the cooperation agreement between CRTEAN and the Federation. It also reflected the Center\u2019s commitment to expanding its engagement in Arab scientific cooperation, identifying shared research priorities, and exploring opportunities for networking and partnerships with research centers, institutes, and scientific institutions across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to its introductory document, the conference focused on strengthening partnerships among Arab scientific centers, aligning research outputs with sustainable development needs, supporting young researchers, and fostering an environment conducive to innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its themes covered a wide range of scientific and development fields, including agricultural sciences and food security; medical and pharmaceutical sciences; the environment and climate change; water and energy; telecommunications and information technology; emerging technologies; engineering and basic sciences; economics, social sciences, and the humanities; and governance and public policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference represents a step toward more integrated Arab scientific cooperation, built on knowledge exchange, coordinated research efforts, and shared development priorities. The participation of CRTEAN\u2019s Director General highlights the importance of research institutions\u2019 engagement in these initiatives and their contribution to advancing scientific research and sustainable development across the Arab region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
